While the above helps establish my credentials, it does little to really tell you about me. I had a life changing event in the Spring of 1996, until which time I had spent all of my adult working years in the corporate business world. I had the wonderful fortune of being led to read M. Scott Peck's book – The Road Less Traveled. The book spoke to me in a way that I believe was an answer to my life's calling; that of helping people navigate through the tough paths of their life's journeys. I pursued the calling as I interpreted it with a passion and found myself rewarded at the end of a very long and arduous journey with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. I became interested in self-forgiveness from working with clients who would repeatedly say that they could forgive others but not themselves. At that time, it sounded counter-intuitive to me and I did not know why.

My search for an understanding is what fueled the passion of my fire to explore how we have come to make sense of what it means to self-forgive. Thus, I wrote my dissertation on self-forgiveness and believe I had been spiritually led to pour all my energies into understanding it in a way that had not been previously examined. I was grateful to all those who had gone before me in their search for a different understanding of self-forgiveness, for without their efforts, I would not have been able to find my feet on the path I chose. I remember with each discovery I made during that exciting time that I could not wait to share it with my family, friends and those I was working close with. Every time I thought I had learned as much as I could about self-forgiveness, another new avenue would light up before me, guiding me forward into an enriching and nurturing understanding of such an important healing agent. It was exciting for me then and remains so today. It is one of the main reasons I want to share my learning, understanding and passion with anyone who is interested, whatever your motivations maybe!
